I am sure all of you will be having withdrawals from our FUN Rotary Club meeting, but get ready as the first Wednesday in 2026 

will kick off the last half of this Rotary Year - with a lot of work and FUN under the leadership of President Todd.

Our first meeting of the New Year is our Foundation and Board of directors meeting. Board member are ask to tell us the good, the bad and any problems with our club work over the past 6 mounth and how we can make it better for the next 6 month.

The Executiv Director with the Dialogue Institute, as I was just told, will be with us this week on Wednesday 21, 2026 at 6:30pm at our Rotray Club meeting, located at Red Truck Cafe. Members have been inspired by activists like Mahatma Gandhi, M. Fethullah Gulen, Dr. Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Mevlana Rumi, and Mother Teresa, Come for the food,fun & felowship but also to be inspired.

Ric is the founder and executive director of dear future, inc; a North Texas nonprofit with the

mission to bring education and health to children in remote and extremely poor regions of the

world. 

Ric is an adopted immigrant from Peru, came at the age of 16; he is a veteran of the US navy

and founded dear future in 2021; he's here to share with us about the rewarding experience of

starting a nonprofit that focuses on helping children, and the power of taking the first step

towards doing what is in your heart...

Bio - Mela Singleton has dedicated more than 20 years to animal welfare and the stewardship of local wildlife. She is the owner of 911 Wildlife and the founder and board chair of the North Texas Wildlife Center. Mela collaborates with numerous animal welfare organizations and shelters and serves on the Wildlife Rehabilitators Committee for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. She is passionate about public engagement and frequently speaks at local and national events on a wide range of wildlife topics, with a focus on bringing awareness to the spaces where people and wildlife intersect.

Jim Frankenfield, our service chair has set up our April service project as a Park clean-up, at Schell Park, located at 2305 Laurel Lane, by: Memorial Elementry School. If you can help, Jim will have all needed supplies to do a safe job. Please let Jim know that you will be helping on the club event. Our FUN fellowship work should take 1 or 2 hours and remember many hands make light work.

As this is our First meeting of May 2026 - ALL of you that are on a Club board - be ready to report what your board has been doing (or NOT doing) and how in the last two mounths of this Rotary year you are going to be doing more. If you are NOT a board member and are a member of this Rotary Club > pick one that you like - as of 1July2026, our new Leadership board will take over and every club member will be part of "A" Club board, so pick now or one will be given to you. Please remember we need a Membership person and also we need a President Elect to be our Club President for Rotary Year 1July2027 - 31Dec2028 ONLY 12 mounth and so many of you can do the job.

love to keep things conversational. You all have heard enough
speeches. A 10 to 15 minute discussion with the group feels like the
right fit. I find that format tends to create more genuine engagement
and allows the room to participate rather than just listen."

Dr. Pearl T. Ponce was appointed the Director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library in June 2024. Before joining the National Archives and Record Administration (a federal agency), she was a college professor, teaching at Ithaca College for 17 years and chairing her department for six. She earned an MA and Ph.D. in History from Harvard University; an MA in History as well as a certificate in Contemporary History from Ohio University; and a BA in International Relations from Pomona College. A political and diplomatic historian of the United States, her specialty is in the Coming of the Civil War Era. She is the author of “To Govern the Devil in Hell”: The Political Crisis in Territorial Kansas and editor of Kansas’s War: The Civil War in Documents. Her main research interests have centered around the presidency; governance and democracy; the exercise of federal power; and the territorial system. Her latest project, “A Strange System of Terrorism”: Federal Power and the Fraying of Democracy in Utah, Washington, and Kansas Territories in the 1850s, brings these threads together.
